Mother's Day

This picture was taken when my mom and I spent a long weekend in San Francisco after I graduated college.   It was the first, but hopefully not last, mother-daughter trip and we had so much fun.  She and I haven't always seen eye-to-eye (but really who agrees all the time with what their mom says?), but now I notice myself doing and saying things that she has always done.  I'm lucky to have such a great mom - Happy Mother's Day!

I'd be lying if I didn't say that I was more than thrilled for seven (!) days of sunshine in a row, and 80+ degree days next weekend.  With this little fact, I couldn't help but be inspired by this look and another idea of how to wear my polka dot skirt with a more casual top for a fun casual Friday outfit or weekend outfit.

Red Pants Strike Again

If someone would have told me how versatile red pants could be (some ideas here, here, and here) I wouldn't have believed them.  I now find myself being drawn toward them almost as often as my regular dark blue skinnies.  Have you jumped on the colored jean trend bandwagon yet? If not, I highly encourage you to give it a try!

Weekend Happenings

Last weekend I wanted to do little more than enjoy the sunshine and the last couple of days before my boyfriend went out of town.  Friday night I got happy hour with two pals at Brix Tavern. It was my first time there, and I was pleasantly surprised by their happy hour (the fondue was delicious), and am already making plans to go back!

Did anyone see the beautiful moon Friday and Saturday night? I couldn't believe how pretty it was!  Saturday we had a date night at Cinetopia, and saw Hunger Games.  I was a little surprised about how much I enjoyed that movie, and now want to read the books! Sunday, I went on a nice walk to soak up some vitamin D and relaxed the rest of the day! It was such a relaxing weekend!

{The Little Things We Do}

1.  My bedtime routine includes, washing my face, brushing my teeth, getting a glass of water to put beside my bed, setting my alarms, setting the TV sleep timer, and then putting on my eye mask. (I'm sure that was really interesting to read). 

2.   I am super happy to be home after a busy week, but had a fun Friday night and start to the weekend!

3.  I can't stand peppers because  they taste awful, and smell horrible when cooked.

4. My idea of relaxation would be drinking coffee, sitting in the sun, and reading magazines.

5. If I had an extra $50, I would get a manicure and pedicure!

6. The best thing about a bloggy friend is when they're just as nice in person as they seem to be online.

7.  A recipe I've been dying to try is French macarons!

I can't believe that it's Wednesday again already - last weekend and this week have flown by! This week's outfit is a super cute one from where else, but JCrew.  I really wish that I could afford to buy everything in this outfit, but for now I'll settle on trying to recreate it with my lower priced items in my closet.

Candy Colored Wall

This wall reminds me a bit of Easter themed M&Ms and fruit stripe gum.  So naturally I've been craving that fun-only-has-flavor-for-10-seconds gum, but then was reminded of how it almost immediately turns to the consistency of rubber.  I guess I'll just have to eat one of the two giant bags of M&Ms that I stocked up on  post-Easter 50% off candy rack.  You'll find me doing Zumba tomorrow ...
