I'm sure no one would be surprised that this outfit is from J.Crew.  It's true to the clean and simple outfits that they're so good at selling.  I have so many J.Crew outfits pinned on my "wish list" it's kind of crazy (hint, hint family).

Wish List: Glitter Nail Polish

I love trying out fun new nail polishes, and recently came across this awesome polish by OPI.  The density of glitter makes it look like it can be worn alone and cover your nail completely, which I love.  How perfect is this for upcoming holiday parties?

Over the Weekend

I had a wonderful long weekend and Thanksgiving.  My boyfriend and I drove up to Gig Harbor on Wednesday night, and spent a couple days there.  We were lucky enough to drive home on a particularly beautiful day too, and I snapped a couple pictures of the Tacoma Narrows bridges, and sunset.  Saturday, we watched the Ducks kick the Beaver's butts during the Civil War Football game, and made some salmon for dinner (don't mind all the butter on it).  Then Sunday we had a happy hour date night and got drinks with my pal Justine and her sister, followed by looking at the pretty Christmas tree in Pioneer Courthouse Square.  It was a busy, but super fun four days!

I plan to recreate this outfit over the long Thanksgiving weekend.  Doesn't she look so comfortable in her legging/jeggings and oversized striped top? How can you go wrong with stripes, leather, leggings, and a comfy scarf ... you can't really.

I wore this outfit recently for an impromptu date night.  I don't know about you, but I sometimes like unplanned dates better than planned ones.  I have a tendency to over anticipate and build up events in my head if they're planned in advance, and with an impromptu date night it forces me to go with the flow.  What's your favorite date that you've been on?

Did anyone go to Old Navy over the weekend? They were having awesome sales, and a five hour event for 75% off all adult jackets.  I mentioned this jacket in an earlier post, but bought it this weekend for a great price of only $12.70 (I also had some Old Navy Super Cash)! I couldn't believe what a great deal it was, and I can't wait to debut it over the Thanksgiving weekend!

Vintage Baubles

Last weekend I went to my parent's house.  Along with looking through old pictures from when my grandpa was young, I also went through some of my great-grandma and grandma's jewelry.  These are some of my favorite gold baubles that I brought home.  I can't wait to wear the gold and green necklace, and the gold leaf pin that I plan on wearing on my tweed blazer!

I love the idea of mixing pattern and texture in one look.  While perusing Anthropologie's website today I came across this adorable combination of cable knit, shine, and stripes and couldn't help but stop.  I am still on the hunt for the perfect oatmeal colored cable knit sweater that doesn't bunch when it hits jeans, and this one might be going the right direction.

I wore this outfit a few weeks ago, and just came across it on my memory card.  I do remember that the day I wore it we were having a particularly lovely fall day.  The morning started off crisp and chilly, but by the afternoon it was beautiful and sunny.

I'm one of those people that rarely purges their closet, and this jacket is one of the things I haven't parted with.  I've had it since I was in high school, and I think even since sophomore year of high school. Proof that you can hang on to something long enough to wear it again several years later!

Sock Hair Bun

 {Supplies needed: hairspray, comb, old trouser sock with tip of the toes cut off 

and rolled like a donut, bobby pins, and hair tie}

{Start by putting your hair in a ponytail in the same place you'll want your bun}

 {Feed your hair through the center of the "sock donut" and bring it almost to the end of your hair}

{Start rolling your hair with the sock, tucking in any loose hairs as you go}

{The bun is all the way "rolled" and now you just need hairspray and sometimes bobby pins}

This is my go-to hairstyle for those less than clean hair days, and even better it only takes a few things and a few minutes.  I find that it's perfect for day or night, especially when you add your favorite lipstick.  So go find  a pony tail and an old sock and start coiffing your hair.

Blair has done it again, with this perfect early fall outfit.  She's combining two things that I'm currently loving together as well, leopard and chambray.  I can't get enough of this combination, and it works so well year round!     Also, if you haven't stumbled upon her blog yet, Blair has mastered the art of layering and still looking cute.  I highly recommend you checking out her blog.

Everybody Everywear :: Colored Tights

When I saw this month's EBEW challenge I was really excited to rock some colored tights, but upon further investigation of my closet I realized that closest thing to colored tights is this gray pair.  So although they aren't bright yellow or blue, this is apparently as wild as I get when it comes to tights.  I have to say that I do really like the pattern on them, so that makes up for how neutral they are right?

P.S. Any tips on how to make my indoor pictures taken with a point and shoot less grainy?

During the summer, my boyfriend and I received two free tickets for Cinetopia Living Room theater.  We were able to use the tickets last night and it was such a fun experience.  We got dinner in the Vinotopia Restaurant, and then secured our spot on the comfortable chairs to watch Tower Heist.  I thought the movie was just ok, but my boyfriend really liked it.  Overall it was a great Sunday date night!

Fill in the Blank Friday

{The Little Things We Do}

1.   My favorite thing about this week was/is  that I get to see one of my best friend's tomorrow and her new baby!

2.   Colder weather makes me think of the upcoming holidays, but rainy/cold weather does not make me a happy camper.

3.  Three things that make me terribly happy as of late are  my boyfriend, warm coffee, and my cat.

4. If I could only wear one kind of shoe for the rest of my life, I'd choose cognac boots, because they are so versatile and comfortable.

5.  My personality type is  most like Type A.  I like things neat and tidy, but also am able to go to sleep if there are dishes in the kitchen sink.

6.  I have a serious problem resisting Lay's Potato Chips, they are the perfect amount of salt and crisp.

7.  My favorite color to wear is black or charcoal gray.

I've been a long time fan of coats from Old Navy.  Not only are they usually a great deal, but they seem to pass the test of a few winters.  One of my favorite jackets is a dark blue trench coat that I've had for probably five years and it still is in great condition.  Right now Old Navy has quite a few coats that I'm currently lusting over, and on top of that they're a great price!

I have seen these mustard color pants pop up in quite a few places, but I think that Taylor and Kendi do a wonderful job of showing how versatile they can be.  Mustard pants wouldn't normally be something I'm normally drawn to, but after seeing how cute they are, they have quickly been added to my wishlist.

Columbia River

On a detour from looking at apartments last weekend, my boyfriend and I enjoyed a nice walk on the Vancouver side of the beautiful Columbia River.  Although the weather went from dry to rainy fairly quickly, I was able to snap some fun pictures along the way.
