Twenty-Six

Last Saturday I was lucky enough to celebrate my 26th birthday with some of the loveliest ladies I know! We started off with brunch at Gracie's and it was one of the best brunches I've ever had! After that we got manicures, had mimosas, and went shopping.  The night was topped off with an old fashion sleepover at my house. I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate my birthday! A few more photos are on Instagram too!

Over the Weekend

This past weekend was the perfect amount of productivity with a heavy dose of fun sprinkled throughout.

Friday :: I went to a bridal show with my best pal Justine who is getting married next summer.
Saturday :: breakfast at Broder (my new favorite), apple tasting at the Portland Nursery, and then an impromptu road trip to my old stomping grounds, Eugene and UO.
Sunday :: Lunch at the new McMenamins in Wilsonville and some delicious pizza and ruby! (not pictured :: even more eating)

Recently I've been busy trying to pack up an over cluttered apartment before my impending move.  I did, however, find some time to enjoy the little things in life.  How was your weekend?

Life Lately

Whoops I took an unplanned blogging hiatus.  Here's some of what I've been up to!

1) Framboise Lambic beer from Gold Dust Meridian.  Have you ever had this beer? It's very rasberry-ey and so tasty!
2) Fun new nail polish colors via Amazon (you save a little money even with shipping than the store) - turquoise and caicos and tart deco by Essie.
3) Eating a lot of ice cream when Oregon went through a warm spurt - bunny tracks flavor!
4) My love and I in a "snug" at Kell's on 21st
5) Hefeweizen beer with a water and straw, always.

Weekend Happenings

Last weekend I wanted to do little more than enjoy the sunshine and the last couple of days before my boyfriend went out of town.  Friday night I got happy hour with two pals at Brix Tavern. It was my first time there, and I was pleasantly surprised by their happy hour (the fondue was delicious), and am already making plans to go back!

Did anyone see the beautiful moon Friday and Saturday night? I couldn't believe how pretty it was!  Saturday we had a date night at Cinetopia, and saw Hunger Games.  I was a little surprised about how much I enjoyed that movie, and now want to read the books! Sunday, I went on a nice walk to soak up some vitamin D and relaxed the rest of the day! It was such a relaxing weekend!

What's Been Going On

Over the past week, I've been trying to take some time to enjoy some of my favorite things and favorite things to do.

I took my car through the car wash, and then it was dusted in pollen again by the next day.  It's a good thing I actually like washing my car, so the second time I washed it by hand!

Trying to savor some of the sunshine we go in Portland last week!

Noticing that I am going to get another free drink from Starbucks soon!

Spending time with my best pal at one of my favorite restaurants.

Another favorite restaurant of mine, Cafe Yumm. I treated myself to lunch there last week.

Have a wonderful week!

Smile

Despite the spring rain we got in Portland all week I had quite a few things that put a smile on my face.

1. Tulips from work that help support the March of Dimes
2. Updating my closet with some spring colors and patterns
3. Delicious mango drink from Saucebox

Love the Weekend

Another great weekend is in the books.

Friday night I went to my BFF's house and she made some delicious, albeit spicy soup I'm also a wimp when it comes to spicy food, and we watched Garden State.
Saturday I started the day off getting my first gel manicure, and then I met up with two pals and their handsome son in Woodburn.  Later that night we went to another friend's house and they made us sturgeon (delicious) and salmon.
Sunday was a full day spent with my love: we went to the driving range, played pool, and had happy hour at Bartini with a few friends.
Such a wonderful weekend, and I was definitely not ready for Monday.  I can't wait to see what next weekend has in store for me (always working for the weekend, right?).

Saturday I wanted a more casual look for the day while I was running errands with my mom, and then something a little different for dinner with my bf.  We went to Henry's Bar and Tavern for dinner, and then to see No Strings Attached which was a really funny movie.

I didn't do much on Sunday other than grocery shop, look through People Style Watch (one of my favorite magazines) and read a book for work.  I love relaxing Sundays with nothing on my schedule.  As you can tell from the pictures I also spent some quality time with my cat Oreo.
How was your weekend?

Olive without a Pimento

Last night, along with updating my Netflix Instant queue, I got happy hour at Hall Street Grill.  Let me tell you, the food was delicious especially the microbrew fries with chipotle aioli, yum!  Also, my cat is sitting on my lap right now and I'm pretty sure he has hiccups.  Can cats get hiccups? If someone knows will you let me know?

Dining in Portland

Portland has hundreds, probably even thousands, of restaurants.  Unfortunately, since I've moved to Portland I haven't been able to try as many restaurants as I've wanted to, that is until Friday when I went to three new (to me) restaurants.

{via}

For lunch I went to Little Big Burger, and had a burger and very delicious French fries.  The menu is limited, but I think that adds to the diner appeal of the restaurant.  The burgers are about the size of a slider, and have the perfect amount of seasoning.  Personally, the fries took the cake in deliciousness though, they are cooked in a truffle oil, and then sprinkled with sea salt.  Amazing.

{Sorry for the iPhone photos}

After work, I met up with a friend at 23rd and Hoyt for a drink.  I think that this restaurant is more about the food versus the drinks since their cocktail menu was limited, but the drink I had was delicious.

Lastly, a few of my friends and I went to Nostrana, which my friend recommended because of itsdelicious pizza.  Not only did the pizza not disappoint, but the atmosphere at this restaurant was very fun.  When we got there the place had such a fun feeling to it, and the decor helped with that feeling as well.  Also they had something that I had never seen before, they gave us a pair of scissors to cut our own slices of pizza!

It was a food filled Friday, but a delicious one at that.  Hope that everyone has had a wonderful weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up

 {Lights on Peacock Lane}

 {"City" lights of Roseburg}

Thursday night I celebrated Christmas early with my boyfriend, we went to Henry's Tavern for dinner, and then to Peacock lane, since it turns out the Christmas ships had already stopped for the year.  It was one of the best nights I've had in a long time and can't think of a better way to celebrate.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas weekend.  Santa treated me very well this year and I got a lot of things on my wish list, and was able to spend some wonderful time with my family and both of my parent's cats!  I have to admit, I was beyond happy to be back in Portland yesterday after an almost five hour drive (a lot of wrecks and rain!) it was nice to order some pizza and play a board game.

Tonight I'm going to a get-together at Bridgeport Brewery in Portland. Can't wait to hang out with more pals!
