Project Runway

Most of my close friends know how excited I am when a new season of Project Runway starts, but this year was even more exciting because another contestant was from the Pacific Northwest. Last year Seth Aaron Henderson from Vancouver, Washington won, and this year Gretchen Jones from Portland, Oregon won! It was such an exciting season to watch, and there was so much competition in the season finale between Gretchen and Mondo that I wasn't sure who was going to win! Here are some of my favorite looks from Gretchen's final collection.

Final Decision

I finally was able to make a decision about which pair of boots to buy. I bought the more expensive Steve Madden boots, and I have to say that I'm so happy that I spent the additional money. They are so comfortable, and have a cute little wedge heel which helps me since I'm so short! Here is a picture of the boots along with a couple other pairs in my collection.

Baked Potato Soup

Over the weekend I made some delicious baked potato soup. It was super easy to make, and it only took a little bit of time! You can even make the recipe easier by using store bought bacon bits. I will definitely make this recipe again, because nothing is better than comfort food during the Winter!

Memphis, TN & Phoenix, AZ!

I have had the opportunity to travel to Memphis and Phoenix for work in the last two weeks. Memphis was such a nice city and it's filled with so many wonderful and historical sights to see. I also was able to visit the school where the player from the movie The Blindside went, and then I also took several trips on the trolley to the colorful Beale St. I wanted to share a photo from inside the trolley and some delicious Blue Moon from O'Sullivans in "Kiss Me I'm Irish" cups.





This week I was in sunny Phoenix. It was such a nice change to be in the sun and warmth during October. I really enjoyed all of the palm trees, it made me feel like I was in Mexico! I also went to a cute market and got a bottled Dr. Pepper that I couldn't resist taking a picture.

1. I am: a lover of fashion, daughter, sister, girlfriend, friend, and a lover of most every cat!

2. I wish: that I could go somewhere nice and sunny this Winter with my love.


3. I like: best friends, cats, Rachel McAdams movies, brunch, gerber daisies, clothes, the holidays.

4. I can: not wait until this weekend when I can finally relax after traveling for the last two weeks. One of my best friends is coming up and I can't wait to visit with her as well!

5. I hope: that it doesn't rain this weekend so I can pick out a pumpkin without getting soaked!


6. I think: that the weekends are absolutely wonderful and really wish they were longer!

Fall in [love with] Portland

While I love Oregon, we don't always have pleasant weather during the Fall. Normally Fall is filled with an over-abundance of rain, so I have been extremely happy with the nice weather we've been having along with all the smells of Fall! This is a photo that I took while at the Saturday Market, and I think it does a nice job of showing just how pretty Portland has been lately.

These boots are made for walking

When it comes to boots, I always have the question in my mind, is it better to spend a little more money and buy boots made with leather or buy boots made of synthetic materials? I recently purchased a pair of boots from Macy's only to try them on with socks and realize they're a little snug. While online window shopping this morning, I came across a very similar pair from Old Navy for about half the price. Now the question is: buy leather boots which may last longer or spend less money for synthetic boots? Here are the boots in question: Macy's or Old Navy.

Playing along with Lauren's Friday post again, and I hope that you enjoy! I also wanted to share a photo from the UO vs. Stanford game.



1. The first thing I do in the morning to start my day is: hop in the shower in order to wake up!

2. Today I wish I was: staying home from work, eating brunch with my love, and going to thrift stores with my best pal.

3. If I had an extra $100 in my bank account today I'd: go shopping at Anthropologie, that store is amazing but a little out of my price range most of the time.

4. Tomorrow: I will make crepes for breakfast and then watch the Oregon football game in the afternoon.

5. Two things that don't go together are: {curly hair and rain.} <-- I have the same problem Lauren, it's awful dealing with curly hair in the rain!

6. Something I can never pass up at the grocery store is: soda, I probably drink too much Diet Dr. Pepper for my own good, but it's irresistible.

7. The last time I tried something new was: wow, it has been a long time and I can't even remember. I guess that means I need something new soon!

Oregon V. Stanford

Today my boyfriend and I are going to the Oregon Ducks football game. I bought him the tickets for his birthday, and it's sure to be a great time seeing our Ducks play live again! I'll leave you with a couple pictures from football games when we went to UO.

2. The most surreal moment of my life was: graduating college as I was one of the first to graduate college in my family.

3. My favorite texture is: tweed. I have a couch in this texture and several items of clothing. It's awesome.

4. My signature color is: black, I have a ton of black pants and shirts because it's such a versatile color.

5. My signature style is: simplicity. I would rather wear a solid color or striped shirt over any other pattern any day.

6. If I could choose one store to spend my life savings at, it would be: Banana Republic. It's a store that suits a professional and dressy side of clothing.

7. My best thing about autumn is: the SMELL! I love walking outside and smelling all of the leaves. leafs
