Fill in the Blank Friday

Sorry for the absence yesterday!  I've been preparing for the 30 for 30 challenge that kicks off Monday!  Look for a post with all of my pieces this weekend hopefully.  Now on to the blanks!

1.   This weekend I'm going to Grand Lodge McMenamins and I'm excited to celebrate my three year anniversary with my love.

2.  My last vacation was  over Memorial Day weekend when I went to Vegas with my bf, and two pals!

3.  My next vacation will be I don't have one planned.

4.  My favorite way to relax is anything with pals or just reading my favorite magazine with my cat cuddled next to me.

5.  When vacationing one should always allow time to relax.  I like to do many activities, but it's important to leave some time to relax, after all it is a vacation.

6.  When vacationing one should never hmm ... I'd say stress out.

7.  The best part about a vacation is experiencing new sites and surroundings, and of course people watching.

Outfit Crush

Khaki pants were one of my favorite things to wear on casual Friday's at my old job.  Now I'm lucky enough to wear jeans every day if I like, but I am inspired by the simplicity of this outfit from the Sartorialist.  Brown and khaki is a very simple color combination, but with the blue canvas Keds the outfit seems even more effortless.

Cognac Purse

Last night I was shopping with my friend for a few things that she needed.  We were in the process of power shopping since we had a time constraint before the start of Bridesmaids.  I spontaneously bought this purse at H&M, and then decided once I had it home if I really liked it.  Turns out, it's pretty great.  It is similar to what I've been looking for, and it has plenty of room for all of my essentials.  The price was also unbeatable!

Sunny Saturday

The weather was amazing last Saturday, and it happened to be the warmest day we've had so far this year.  I took the opportunity to stay outside for a good portion of the day, visiting the farmers market, grabbing happy hour outside, and walking around as much as I could.  It made me realize why I live in Oregon, for such beautiful days like that!

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   I love  savory foods because they just seem to satisfy my taste buds more than sweet foods on most days!

2.  A time that mama knew best was  when she said that I would be able to learn how to be appreciative of more things if I had to pay for them on my own.  Really this was both of my parents, so I'm appreciative of both!

3.  My first kiss went a little like this so awkward.  It was after a middle school dance and my best friend's dad actually saw it, and I was mortified. 

4.  My celebrity crush is because I can't think of one, I'll just say Ryan Gosling.  I don't really know if there is one celebrity out there I have a crush on.

5.  My splurge of choice is boots.  In Portland it's pretty vital to have at least one pair of nice waterproof boots since you end up wearing them more often than not.

6.  My biggest accomplishment is graduating from college.  I am the second person in my entire family to graduate from college, so it was something that I am happy I pushed myself through all four years.

7.  My dance jam of choice is it's somewhat cliche, but I love the Black Eyed Peas song "I've got a feeling."  I think that this song will always remind me of one of my best friend's weddings, and singing it at the top of our lungs at her bachelorette party, before the wedding while getting ready, and during the reception.

This past weekend I was fortunate enough to escape the rainy Pacific Northwest for the sunny (and sometimes rainy) city of Las Vegas.  My visit was wonderful for the weekend, despite a couple delayed flights, and some sprinkles on Sunday!  I did manage to find what I think will quickly become my go-to white dress (picture to follow) but also spent some quality time with my BF, and two of my closest pals.  It was the perfect long weekend!

Taylor has a way of making most any outfit seem effortless.  When I first saw this outfit on her blog the other day I immediately fell in love.  It makes me want to run out and buy leopard shoes, a white lace top, and turquoise bag!  I might be wearing a variation of this outfit for the upcoming lace EBEW!
