Fashion Friday

While I haven't watched Gossip Girl in a long time, (silly ABC for airing the Bachelor on the same night) I appreciate all of the lovely outfits on the show.  Blair's outfits in these photos are wonderful, and makes me realize that even though it's still winter I can wear a bright outfit to brighten the gray skies.

Have you heard about Pinterest yet? I heard about it a few weeks ago, and finally got an invitation to join today.  Pinterest allows you to save any pictures that you find on the Internet and want to save for later on Pinboards - as they say "it's a place to catalog things you love."  The best part is that you can also categorize your pins, and look at what other people have pinned.    I am obsessed with it!

Silly blogger didn't post my post yesterday! 

Today's outfit crush comes from a local Portland blog - Lisa from Urban Weeds Street Style, peruses the streets of Portland for street style.  I chose today's inspiration in honor of National Breton Stripes day which happened to be yesterday.  Also, I just bought a new gray blazer to include in my 30 for 30 challenge, and I can't wait to style it in a similar way!

Valentine's day isn't for a couple of weeks, but in my opinion it's never too early to think about presents.  A telegram is something that I've never seen in real life before, that is until I ordered one for my parent's anniversary.  Telegram stop offers old time looking telegrams at a great price ($5.85!), and it's so easy to make.  So go ahead and make one for your love, family, or friends. -(stop)-

Winter 30 for 30 Challenge

Kendi has announced her winter version of the 30 for 30 challenge set to start February 1st.  Once again I am going to participate, because I had so much fun last time, and it made getting dressed every morning easier.  Check back later this week to see my clothing choices, and be sure to follow me and my 30 outfits.  For those of you who have participated in Kendi's challenge, and are doing it again this go around, what are your tips and tricks to make it through? 

Also, has anyone else noticed how geriatric looking a lot of clothes are at the mall lately?  My pal Justine and I were shopping this weekend, (only for last minute 30 for 30 items of course) and I kept finding pieces of clothing that look like my older relatives would wear.  I for one am happy to avoid the mall for the month of February which will hopefully allow this "trend" to pass.

Is it just me or was this week extra long feeling? I don't think I'm alone when I say that I am so that it is finally Friday.  Let's make it a great start to the weekend!

{The Little Things We Do}

2.  A bad habit I have is: picking at my cuticles non-stop, and I pop my knuckles more than I'd like to admit.  They are both awful habits that I wish I could stop, but I've done them my whole life and don't even notice when I do it now. 

3.  The first time I felt like a "grown up" was: when I wrote my first rent check in college, and then again every month when I wrote a check for health insurance.  Man growing up is expensive, but it sure is worth it. :) 

4.  Weekends are:  super relaxing lately.  I was so busy during the holidays and then a girl's weekend after that, that it's nice to stay home and relax and maybe even get some cleaning done.  I love weekends with no set plans!

5.  When I was a child I wished my name was: Brittany, but now I know so many Brittany's so I'm glad that my parents named me Courtney.  (I feel like it's a less common name than Brittany.)

6.  I wish:  that my hair would ignore the weather, and not frizz.  It's so much better when it's just cold in the winter because my hair behaves!

7.  A secret I have is:  that I have anywhere from 25-50 pairs of Birkenstock sandals and clogs.  I use to wear them all the time, but now I feel guilty not wearing them, but luckily my mom wears the same size as me so we can share them.
