Outfit Crush

Lately I've realized how much I love layering.  It is something that I've never consciously thought about when putting together an outfit, but now I find myself putting a sweater over anything.   Recently, my favorite way to layer is a v-neck sweater over a button up.  It is so easy, and lets you utilize some basic pieces in new ways.

I was excited when I saw that this month's EBEW theme was pastels, since I already had an outfit planned that would work! I have had this blazer (along with most of my other blazers) since high school.  It's from Old Navy, and I think that most would be surprised to find that out.  Not only have I gotten my money's worth out of it, but it is also perfect for our temperamental spring days!

I feel a little bit like a broken record, but I had another wonderful weekend.  I had drinks with my best friend and her boyfriend Friday night, celebrated a pal's birthday on Saturday, and saw Ovo on Sunday with my love.

Have you ever been to a Cirque Du Soleil show? Ovo was my first one, and now I want to see all of them - they are amazing.  I was incredibly impressed with each characters acrobatic ability and feel really lucky to have been able to see it yesterday.  How was your weekend?

Despite the spring rain we got in Portland all week I had quite a few things that put a smile on my face.  

1. Tulips from work that help support the March of Dimes

2. Updating my closet with some spring colors and patterns

3. Delicious mango drink from Saucebox

You really can't go wrong with tweed, bright colors, oh and a splash of leopard can you?  I plan on wearing as many outfits with bright colored blouses that I can think of, and I will definitely be putting together an outfit similar to this one!

Love the Weekend

 

Another great weekend is in the books. 

Friday night I went to my BFF's house and she made some delicious, albeit spicy soup I'm also a wimp when it comes to spicy food, and we watched Garden State.

Saturday I started the day off getting my first gel manicure, and then I met up with two pals and their handsome son in Woodburn.  Later that night we went to another friend's house and they made us sturgeon (delicious) and salmon.  

Sunday was a full day spent with my love: we went to the driving range, played pool, and had happy hour at Bartini with a few friends.  

Such a wonderful weekend, and I was definitely not ready for Monday.  I can't wait to see what next weekend has in store for me (always working for the weekend, right?).

I saw some of Lauren Conrad's spring collection last weekend at Kohl's but I didn't spend a lot of time looking at it.  Finally, I looked at her items online, and there are quite a few things that I would love to add to my closet from the newest collection!  As you can tell, the majority of my "wish list" items are in this pretty peach/light pink color which I think would be a fun addition to anyone's closet.
