Jamboree Weekend

 

Last weekend you would have found me listening to some of my favorite country music artists at the Oregon Jamboree.  Four friends and I squeezed ourselves in a tiny bedroom in a little town in Oregon called Sweet Home, but it was a perfect recipe for a fun slumber party.  One of the highlights of the weekend was seeing one of my favorite bands, Rascal Flatts! They were even better than I would have thought, and I can't wait to go back next year!

Hey guys, I'm back! I'm not going to lie, it's been a pretty nice break from blogging.  To be quite honest it's been difficult for me to keep up with my blog, and I hate feeling like I'm not giving it my all.  Hopefully I'll be able to start back in the groove of blogging again, and what better way to start than with an outfit that I'm loving.

I finally purchased some Sperry's that I've been lusting over, so I am drawing inspiration from this lovely outfit.  I'm similar to Jill in that I love wearing lightweight sweaters or long sleeve shirts with shorts, and it helps keep from showing too much skin. It's a great look for any cooler days in the forecast.

It's definitely a toss up between what gets worn more in my closet, striped or chambray shirts.  The truth is, both are so versatile that I find myself reaching for either of them on any given day.  If you haven't found a chambray shirt to add to your closet, I highly recommend buying one!

Now that the mercury has been staying in the "warm" zone I'm super happy to create some different outfit combinations.  I love the idea of a versatile outfit that has layers even in the summer.  Swapping a tank or other top with a long sleeve button-up and vest at night is a fun way to turn your outfit from day-to-night. I love this look by Jane and how she topped her entire outfit with a great army green vest.

I had such a lovely weekend, although it came and went far too quickly (don't they always?).  I was able to squeeze in some fun along with also being productive around the house.  How was your weekend?

Currently my bed is sitting on just a standard H frame, and is quite frankly looking extremely plain in the room.   So I'm considering making a headboard, and have done it before but it was a very simple padded headboard.  This time I'm thinking about a more detailed style, perhaps with some tufting or nail heads.  These are some of my favorite looks currently inspiring me.

A weekend outfit can't get much easier than a colorful skirt and striped shirt right? Also, is anyone else as happy that the denim jacket is back in style as I am?  I'm so happy that I didn't purge my high school denim jacket all those years ago, and have since brushed the dust off it to wear again.  A denim jacket is the perfect topper for an outfit in the summer!
