Casual Friday

{Sweater & Jeans: Gap, Heels: Macy's}

After wearing skirts/dresses and tights for the last three days I was so happy to put some jeans on again.  I bought these jeans with a Groupon to Gap right before the challenge started, and they were such a good deal!  After work, I went to my friend's place to make some Irish meatballs and mashed potatoes for dinner so I wanted to wear something comfortable.

Willpower

 {Top: Forever 21, Skirt: Banana Republic, Tights: Forever 21, Boots: Macy's}

Today is the first real test of my willpower during the 30 for 30.  H&M opened it's very first store in Oregon today, and to make it worse only 15 minutes away from where I live.  Don't worry though, I was able to overcome the strong urge to shop!

I'm going to another Bikram class tonight, apparently I didn't think it was too bad the first time.  Wish me luck!

Obsessive

{Cardigan: H&M, Dress: Forever 21, Tights: Target, Oxfords: Nine West}

I'll let you in on a little secret, I'm mildly OCD ... okay make that pretty OCD.  I knew that this 30 for 30 challenge would be stressful for me unless I had some sort of plan.  Part of my OCD is that I absolutely love making spreadsheets (nerdy I know), but it's true I will create a spreadsheet for practically anything and this challenge was no different.  Here is a snapshot of how I organized my 30 days:

Like I said, I had to go about this in an organized fashion. Thanks for letting me share how OCD I am with you ... now tell me, did you do anything crazy to prepare for the challenge?

Twice as Nice

Last night I attended my very first Bikram yoga class. There is not much to say about the class other than the fact that it is so different than Wii yoga, and I knew it would be a little different I just wasn't sure how much. I can't say that it was my favorite workout activity, and I think that I prefer the comfort of my living room and Wii game system for my workouts but who knows I might start to like it.

The Kick Off

I'm about to head out the door for my very first Bikram yoga class.  If you haven't heard of Bikram yoga, it's a 90 minute yoga class in a 105 degree room.  Wish me luck, and I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow!

P.S. Am I am nerd for being excited about spending my Fred Meyer rewards on holiday decorations? If that makes me a nerd, then I don't want to be cool.

Paste a link to your 30 items in the comment section.  I'd love to see your choices!

30 for 30 Challenge

hello

I've read Kendi's comedic fashion blog for several months now. Not only does she have great taste in clothing, but she has challenged herself to create 30 different outfits out of 30 items of clothing. She's doing the challenge again, and this time I decided to participate! For the duration of the challenge you are also not supposed to spend money on clothing, accessories, or shoes. I'm both excited and nervous for the challenge, and I hope that you will join me to see how well I do!

[p.s. I even put all of my 30 for 30 items together in a section of my closet so I'm not tempted and drawn off course by my other clothes! Hopefully that will help. :)]

P.S. Because Black Friday happens to be during the challenge, I am allowing myself to shop on that day. Can't pass up any of those good deals!

Fill in the Blank Friday

This Friday's Fill in the Blanks are about something that I love and hate about the same amount of time: hair. I'm excited this week to answer theses blanks from Lauren's blog.

1. My last haircut was: sometime this summer, when my friend cut my hair. Professionally cut, was probably around January.

2. My most daring hair moment was: when I thought blond highlights were a good idea.

3. A hairstyle I'd never be brave enough to try is: a super short bob.

4. I've always dreamt of being a (blonde, brunette or red-head): brunette. I have pretty dark auburn hair, but I just wish that it was a little darker!

5. My go-to hair do is: curly and halfback. I've been rockin' this style for as long as I remember, even back when I use to buy gel by the half gallon, yes you read that right, half gallons of gel. Luckily, I came to my senses and realized gel was not the best thing for my hair!

6. My biggest hair disaster was: when my I use to cut the "longer" sections of my hair aka just hadn't dried as fast as the rest of my hair. I did this for probably all of 7th grade, bad decision.

7. A hairstyle I am dying to try is: a fishtail braid. I will definitely have to give it a try the next time I straighten my hair since it doesn't look very curl friendly.

8. My best hair day was: graduation day from the University of Oregon. I straightened it so that it would lay correctly under my cap!

9. The worst hairstyle I ever had was: dates back to Kindergarten or 1st grade, when my hair stylist thought it would be good to cut my hair short on the top, and long in the back. Yes, that's also known as a mullet.

10. My hair is: something that I'm trying to get better at styling in more versatile ways.

Happy Friday and have a nice weekend!
