Autumn Love

This week I had quite a few things that I was especially enjoying about this time of year:

1. Candy corn is probably my all-time favorite candy
2. Mini decorative pumpkins
3. Mine and my boyfriend's pumpkins (don't mind the toothpicks propping the "O" up)
4. The last few leaves on a tree in my apartment complex

Happy Weekend!!

Boyfriend's Plaid Shirt

{Button-Up: Boyfriends, from Buffalo Exchange, Leggings: Calvin Klein, Boots: DSW}

Something that I didn't anticipate when my boyfriend and I moved in together was that I could occasionally borrow some of his shirts, but it is a nice advantage.  His button-up shirts are the perfect length to wear with leggings, which is great because I don't have a lot of options to wear with leggings.  Do you ever borrow items from your man's side of the closet?

Outfit Crush

Taylor is taking the neon + neutral trend up a level by wearing neon and leopard together.  I have to say that this is something that I plan to fully embrace with my newfound love of leopard!  It doesn't hurt that she's also wearing a gorgeous silk equipment shirt either.

iPhone Cases

Not only was I excited to get the new iPhone, but I was excited to get a cute Kate Spade case on Amazon.  I got a great deal on it, but I also have a few that will be added to both my Christmas and birthday lists.  (I seem to have a black and white theme happening as well.)

Fill in the Blank Friday

Linking up with Lauren today and filling in some blanks.  Happy weekend!

1.   Nothing says fall like going to the pumpkin patch.

2.   My favorite autumnal tradition is my family's annual tradition of going to corn mazes.  This year we've already gone to two of them!

3.  My favorite fall treat is candy corn.  I made the mistake of buying two bags at the beginning of October, and needless to say they barely lasted a week.  Oops!

4. Fall makes me think of  what the rest of the year has in store  because it's when I start trying to think of presents for my friends and family, and what I will bring to get-togethers.

5.  Autumn free form word association, go!  Colored leaves, scarfs, boots, pumpkins, apples, and cinnamon

6.  My go-to outfit in the fall is skinny jeans, boots, button-up, cardigan, scarf, and jacket.

7.  My favorite fall holiday is (Halloween or Thanksgiving)  Although I love dressing up for Halloween.  Thanksgiving is my favorite, because it's a time to be with family and eat food that's only around about once a year!

Gray + Navy

I wanted to try out a more fall version of "colorblocked" nails.  I really like the combination of navy and gray, and these two bottles of nail polish are both so inexpensive.   The gray nail polish is Sally Hansen, and is only about $3, and the navy blue is from Forever 21 and was also a couple dollars.  (I might suggest buying a different brand of navy polish since it doesn't seem to last that long.)  Changing up your nails is such a fun way to change up your look.

Outfit Crush

This is an older picture of Sydney, but the outfit still is perfect today.  Her outfit makes me want to move a classic black blazer and gold watch up higher on my wish list.  They are both timeless pieces to add to your wardrobe.

Food Network: Anne Thornton

This past weekend I went to Spirit Mountain Casino to watch a baking demo by Food Network Chef, Anne Thornton.  She taught the audience one simple chocolate chip recipe that could be used in five different ways.  It was a fun (and tasty) demo to watch, and she was so nice!

Decor Envy

{Pinterest via Emily Clark}
Ok you guys, I'm envious of this cozy bedroom.  My room is already pretty well put together, but I'm definitely looking for some lovely pillows and a graphic lamp shade to complete the look.  Do you have any suggestions on where to buy great fabrics or pillows?

Wish List: Corduroy Pants

I can't believe I'm about to admit the following, but in fifth and sixth grade I had a pair of wide leg, dark blue, thick wale corduroy pants.  Let me tell you, they were not pretty.  Despite that, I am again wanting a pair of corduroy pants, but this time I hopefully won't look back at them in disgust.  All of the above options are fairly inexpensive, and are putting a modern twist on corduroy pants.

Outfit Crush

This is one of the best representations of a fall to winter transition outfit that I've seen in awhile.  You can wear the blazer over a button-up in the morning when it's colder, and then remove the blazer for warmer afternoons.  Of course this outfit would come from JCrew, a store that I would love to have a shopping spree.  (A girl can dream.)

Blue Moon Cupcakes

{Cupcake Ingredients}

 {Frosting Ingredients}

 {Completed Cupcake}

{Just about to try one}

When I came across this recipe for Blue Moon Cupcakes on Pinterest, I immediately pinned it without thinking twice.  What's better than combining a delicious beer with delicious cupcakes? Not very much.  I'm happy that they turned out as well as I was hoping, and were perfect for my boyfriend's birthday party.

Friend's Baby Shower

 {Banner for above the gift table}

{Party favor sugar cookies}

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to co-host a baby shower for one of my best friends.  It was such a fun thing to be a part of, and the planning and setting up was a great time.  Although these aren't the best pictures, it gives you an idea on what we did.

Kate Spade Inspired Canvas

Among other things, this weekend I am hoping to make my own Kate Spade inspired canvas out of simple supplies from the craft store.  Although, the DIY uses paper circles, I'm considering painting the circles on the canvas rather than using paper and glue.  Hopefully it'll turn out well.  When I hopefully get around to making it this weekend, I'll be sure to share the results!

Outfit Crush

Hi guys, I'm back! This week's outfit crush is from the lovely Sydney.  This photo is an older one, but the outfit would be perfect for this fall.  I have a feeling I'm going to dig out my khaki pants and pair them with some boots and a blazer for a casual weekend look, because this outfit is cute!
