18 Outfits and Counting

{Button-Up: Forever 21, Tank: Forever 21, Shorts: Gap, Heels: Target}

Have any of you ever watched the TV Show "18 Kids and Counting?" I was watching a special on that family the other night, and I am just utterly amazed that one woman can give birth to that many kids! The thought of even birthing one child doesn't sound like much fun, let alone 18?!

Frozen Yogurt

{Cardigan: Ann Taylor Loft, Button-Up: Old Navy, Jeans: JCrew, Heels: Target}

As soon as I hit "publish post" I get to meet my friend for some frozen yogurt and some window shopping.  Although it isn't necessarily frozen yogurt weather around here it's one of my favorite things to eat! Do you have any favorite toppings for your frozen yogurt?

More than halfway to the end

{Top: Old Navy, Jeans: Banana Republic, Belt: Borrowed from Boyfriend, Heels: Nine West}

Today was so strange in terms of weather.  I woke up to the sound of rain, and then it has been gloomy all day with the exception of about 45 minutes when the sun decided to show it's face.  I'm excited because I think that it's supposed to get nothing but nicer this week, and we may be in the 80s for the holiday weekend!

Over the Weekend

{Tank: Forever 21, Skirt: Banana Republic, Sandals: Ross}

This past weekend was a great one.  I was able to start on a sewing project that I've had on my to-do list for what seems like months, I got to celebrate a bachelorette party with friends, and had dinner and game night with more pals and my BF.

How was your weekend?

Number Twelve

{Blouse: Lauren Conrad for Kohl's, Skirt: H&M, Heels: Nine West}

Happy Friday everyone! What are you all doing for the weekend? I'm planning on making some crafts and I'm going to a bachelorette party tomorrow night.  I'm also hoping to enjoy any sunshine that we might receive!

{Cardigan: H&M, Shirt: Forever 21, Necklace: Forever 21, Jeans: JCrew, Sandals: Ross}

Although you can't really tell what my necklace is, it has a large feather and a small one and another random charm.  I wore it when I went through TSA the last time, and needless to say the lady made sure to verify what it was because the large feather looked suspicious on her screen.  I thought it was kind of funny because I would have never thought that it looked like anything but a feather, but I guess you never know.

Hearts & Stripes

{Top: Old Navy, Skirt: H&M, Heels: Nine West}

So far June has been a trying month for me.  I won't go into details but lets just say that I'm happy to have this blog as a creative outlet, and that I'm surrounded by the most amazing friends and family.  Also, I am grateful for my readers, thank you for taking time out of your day to look at my blog, it really means a lot to me!

Now, onto the outfit.  I bought this skirt awhile ago at H&M, and although I fell in love with the pattern immediately, I was a little worried about the closures on it.  The whole back side is just buttons, and there isn't really a courteous "modesty" panel, so it's somewhat nerve wracking to wear.  Never the less, I really like the stripes with the hearts.

Summer Solstice

 {Dress: Ross, Belt: Can't Remember, Heels: Nine West}

I'm so happy that today is the first day of summer, and with that comes more sunshine!  It was really nice of Oregon to look at the calendar today and be warm.  Tonight I have plans to get a drink with some friends, do any of you have any plans to celebrate the solstice?

Some Sunshine!!

 {Button-Up: Forever 21, Belt: H&M, Jeans: JCrew, Heels: Thrifted from friend}

For most of the day today the sky was overcast, so when the sun finally decided to show it's face this afternoon I couldn't help but go outside.  I'm pretty obsessed with these shoes, my friend was going to get rid of them along with a couple other pairs last summer and I snatched them up before she was able to!

Six & Seven

 {Shirt: Target, Jeans: Banana Republic, Heels: Urban Outfitters}

Saturday's outfit was inspired by Grease.  When I stood in front of my 30 for 30 section of my closet all I could think about was that movie for some reason.  All I was lacking was a drag race in the local water channel and a scarf around my neck and I think I would have fit in well.

{Button-Up: Forever 21, Belt: Forever 21, Jeans: JCrew, Flats: Jessica Simpson}

{Close-up of the belt with the movable metal pieces}

Even though I belt this belt from Forever 21 awhile ago now, yesterday was the first chance I had to wear it.  I fell in love with the dual colored metal pieces that sort of "float" around it, but was a little surprised at how heavy it actually was with all of the metal!  I wore this to see my parents for an impromptu Father's Day get together and it was perfect for my hour drive to see them!

Child of the 80s and 90s

{Shirt: Old Navy, Skirt: Zara, Heels: Nine West}

I feel like I'm representing the 90s a little bit today with my outfit.  I don't know about anyone else but if at all possible, my shirt was knotted and worn with leggings when I was younger, and not to mention my hair braided off to the side.  I've been seeing people knot their shirts and thought I would go ahead and try it!  Is there anything you use to wear when you were younger that you're starting to see again?

Go-To Outfit

{Cardigan: H&M, Tank: Forever 21, Skirt: Banana Republic Outlet, Flats: Jessica Simpson, Scarf: shop in SF}

This is pretty much my go-to look in the spring: skirt, tank, and cardigan for the cold nights and sometimes days.  I got this skirt for a great deal last summer at Banana Republic Outlet and it's one of my most worn pieces in the summer because not only is it a neutral black, but it has POCKETS! I'm pretty sure that I'll buy almost any skirt or dress if it has pockets, because they just lend such a fun attitude to a piece of clothing.  Also, please pardon my cat who was peeking out the blinds to see what I was up to.

P.S. Please don't mind my pale Oregon legs that are in dire need of sunless tanner.

Three's Company

{Shirt: H&M, Jeans: Banana Republic, Shoes: Jessica Simpson,  Watch: Fossil (gift)}

Do any of you ever have a mid-week slump where you're tired and the weather is gloomy, and all you want to wear is pajamas?  That was me this morning, so I opted to wear a fairly comfortable outfit, and my comfy blue and green striped shirt!  Perfect outfit for the day.

Twice as Nice

{Shirt: Old Navy, Belt: H&M, Shorts: Gap, Heels: Target}

A few weeks ago two of my friends and I bought a Living Social deal for a manicure and pedicure, and it may have been one of my best purchases in awhile.  Tonight we redeemed the deal, and it was so great to catch up with friends and get pampered at the same time! What more can a girl ask for on a gloomy and cold Tuesday evening? (ok maybe some popcorn and/or frozen yogurt).

Everybody Everywear - Lace

{Top: Forever 21, Jeans: Jcrew, Heels: Kohl's}

At first I didn't realize that I owned anything with lace, and was already planning on asking my trusty friend Justine (aka my clothes swapping pal) for one to wear.  After looking and not just trying to imagine my closet I found quite a few options.  I decided to go with a little touch of lace for this look, but I have to say that I enjoyed the outfit.

P.S. I took this picture last week, since I didn't include this shirt or shoes in my 30 for 30 remix items.

The Kick Off!

{Blouse: Lauren Conrad for Kohl's, Jeans: Jcrew, Heels: Urban Outfitters}

I'm so excited to start another 30 for 30 challenge!  The combination of orange and teal is somewhat more fall than spring, but frankly the weather hasn't been acting like spring so why not?  I'd love to check out your outfits from the challenge so leave me a comment if you're participating!

Three Years Ago ...

{Florence, Oregon three years ago}

... I started dating this wonderful man.  I couldn't ask for a better three years and am so excited to celebrate together at one of our favorite places, McMenamins!

30 for 30

It's that time again, the next 30 for 30 challenge starts Monday! Initially I was worried that a warmer weather challenge, would well be, more challenging than cold weather.  I feel like there are so many different possibilities in the summer, and also living in the Pacific Northwest the weather is highly unpredictable.  You might notice the number of cardigans, long sleeve shirts, and button-up shirts because June weather is wacky! Check back on Monday to see my first outfit!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Sorry for the absence yesterday!  I've been preparing for the 30 for 30 challenge that kicks off Monday!  Look for a post with all of my pieces this weekend hopefully.  Now on to the blanks!

1.   This weekend I'm going to Grand Lodge McMenamins and I'm excited to celebrate my three year anniversary with my love.

2.  My last vacation was  over Memorial Day weekend when I went to Vegas with my bf, and two pals!

3.  My next vacation will be I don't have one planned.

4.  My favorite way to relax is anything with pals or just reading my favorite magazine with my cat cuddled next to me.

5.  When vacationing one should always allow time to relax.  I like to do many activities, but it's important to leave some time to relax, after all it is a vacation.

6.  When vacationing one should never hmm ... I'd say stress out.

7.  The best part about a vacation is experiencing new sites and surroundings, and of course people watching.

Happy Weekend!!

Outfit Crush

Khaki pants were one of my favorite things to wear on casual Friday's at my old job.  Now I'm lucky enough to wear jeans every day if I like, but I am inspired by the simplicity of this outfit from the Sartorialist.  Brown and khaki is a very simple color combination, but with the blue canvas Keds the outfit seems even more effortless.

Cognac Purse

Last night I was shopping with my friend for a few things that she needed.  We were in the process of power shopping since we had a time constraint before the start of Bridesmaids.  I spontaneously bought this purse at H&M, and then decided once I had it home if I really liked it.  Turns out, it's pretty great.  It is similar to what I've been looking for, and it has plenty of room for all of my essentials.  The price was also unbeatable!

Sunny Saturday

{Top: Can't Remember, Skirt: Forever 21, Fedora: JCPenney, Sandals: Ross}

The weather was amazing last Saturday, and it happened to be the warmest day we've had so far this year.  I took the opportunity to stay outside for a good portion of the day, visiting the farmers market, grabbing happy hour outside, and walking around as much as I could.  It made me realize why I live in Oregon, for such beautiful days like that!

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   I love  savory foods because they just seem to satisfy my taste buds more than sweet foods on most days!

2.  A time that mama knew best was  when she said that I would be able to learn how to be appreciative of more things if I had to pay for them on my own.  Really this was both of my parents, so I'm appreciative of both!

3.  My first kiss went a little like this so awkward.  It was after a middle school dance and my best friend's dad actually saw it, and I was mortified.

4.  My celebrity crush is because I can't think of one, I'll just say Ryan Gosling.  I don't really know if there is one celebrity out there I have a crush on.

5.  My splurge of choice is boots.  In Portland it's pretty vital to have at least one pair of nice waterproof boots since you end up wearing them more often than not.

6.  My biggest accomplishment is graduating from college.  I am the second person in my entire family to graduate from college, so it was something that I am happy I pushed myself through all four years.

7.  My dance jam of choice is it's somewhat cliche, but I love the Black Eyed Peas song "I've got a feeling."  I think that this song will always remind me of one of my best friend's weddings, and singing it at the top of our lungs at her bachelorette party, before the wedding while getting ready, and during the reception.

Scenes from a Weekend

{So happy to be in the sun!}

{Ready for Blue Man Group - Isn't my friend a cute pregnant girl?}

{Yum - the Sugar Factory}

This past weekend I was fortunate enough to escape the rainy Pacific Northwest for the sunny (and sometimes rainy) city of Las Vegas.  My visit was wonderful for the weekend, despite a couple delayed flights, and some sprinkles on Sunday!  I did manage to find what I think will quickly become my go-to white dress (picture to follow) but also spent some quality time with my BF, and two of my closest pals.  It was the perfect long weekend!

Outfit Crush

Taylor has a way of making most any outfit seem effortless.  When I first saw this outfit on her blog the other day I immediately fell in love.  It makes me want to run out and buy leopard shoes, a white lace top, and turquoise bag!  I might be wearing a variation of this outfit for the upcoming lace EBEW!
