Nude Sandals

It seems as though I've been craving heels for summer.  I bought these heels from Urban Outfitters  a few weeks ago, and since then I've purchased these nude heels from Nine West with gift cards that I've been hoarding since the holidays.  Despite the heel height of these, they are really comfortable because of the platform.  These shoes will go well with so many items for spring and summer including the neutral and color block trends.

Outfit Crush

I am fully ready to embrace color blocking this spring and summer.  I have several color combinations in mind, and one of my favorite colors to combine is blue and turquoise.  It's also lovely how flowy both the top and skirt are in this outfit.

Neon Tweed

 {Blazer: Gifted from friend, Top: Michael Kors, Jeans: Gap, Oxfords: Nine West}

I think that my outfit incorporated two trends that I saw while attending the Nordstrom Designer Spring Preview a few weeks ago (neon and Chanel inspired tweed).  Of course my blazer was a Chanel imposter, and was actually given to me by a friend.  I also wanted to make the otherwise bulky blazer more feminine by belting the middle.

Inspiration Bulletin Board

I've been on the hunt for the perfect frame to make an inspiration board for longer than I care to admit.  I've searched all the usual suspects, Goodwill, Ross, Home Goods, Target, to no avail.  I don't know if I am being too picky or if the selection is not adequate to make one from scratch but I haven't found anything.  Do you have any suggestions on where to look?

Weekend Plans

You can find me this weekend:

Baking these scones
Visiting with friends from Klamath Falls, OR
Drinking coffee from Stumptown Coffee
Taking photos at Ace Hotel
Eating at Noble Rot
[Hopefully] browsing at Noun

Happy weekend!

Black & White

{Cardigan: Gap, Button-Up: Gap, Belt: H&M, Jeans: Forever 21, Boots: Macy's}

 {Inspired by my cat Oreo}

My boyfriend gave me the idea to create an outfit inspired by a stuff around me, whether it be my cat, a pretty spring flower, or a piece of art.  This is my first attempt at being inspired by something fairly simple, my black and white cat.  Of course this was an easy outfit to put together, and it was perfect for a Thursday when I'm usually becoming tired of my closet.  I'm aiming for this to be a weekly post, and I'm also hoping that flowers start to bloom, and that I have time to walk around Portland to become inspired to create outfits based on what I see!

Outfit Crush

Today's outfit crush is perfect for the lingering days of cold weather, and it's especially perfect for working in an office because of the layers!  My favorite part of Ashley's outfit is her dark denim trouser jeans paired with gray, cognac, and olive green.  I don't think I would normally pair gray, cognac, and olive green together but she makes it look so great!

Banana Republic Dresses & Skirts

While I did some damage to my checking account last weekend (more on that later this week) I received a coupon from my friend today for 50% off dresses and skirts at Banana Republic.  This enticed me to browse their website, and if my budget was unlimited, these are the items I would pick.

70s Spring

{Sweater: Forever 21, Belt: Forever 21, Jeans: Bitten by SJP, Heels: Can't Remember}

Happy first full day of spring! I wish that Oregon weather had looked at the calendar and provided us with blooming flowers and abundant sunshine, never the less it'll be here fairly shortly.  Can you tell I'm super tired of the gray weather?

Today I decided to do my take on the 70s trend that is coming back for spring.  Because I am short, I think I will steer clear from super flared jeans, so today I busted out my bootcut/flare jeans.  These jeans are actually from the short lived Bitten by Sarah Jessica Parker line that was sold at Steve and Barry's.  Do you think that you'll experiment with the 70s comeback?

Orange You Glad

I know that today is St. Patrick's Day, but my new red/orange heels arrived today from Urban Outfitters, and I couldn't resist posting what they look like. Although they are more orange than I was anticipating, I am beyond excited to wear them once this rain non-sense stops!

I'll be away from my computer tomorrow, so happy weekend and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Wish I Was Here Wednesday

Playing along with Olivia today in her blog's series "Wish I was Here Wednesday." Today I wish that I was anywhere that isn't raining, but in particular in Greece.  Greece has been on my "To Visit" list for a very long time now, and hopefully I'll be able to visit it sometime soon!

Outfit Crush

I just so happen to have an exact variation of this outfit in my closet.  I love the idea of wearing a yellow striped shirt with matching cardigan, and black pants.  Normally I would think it would be too bumblebee-esque, but lately I've been loving yellow and black together.

Target Designer Collection

{Target via The Budget Babe}

I was so happy to get my hands on a Tucker for Target dress when they reintroduced their GO International line.  In order to make this dress more end of winter/spring appropriate I opted to wear it with an olive green cardigan, cognac belt and boots, and brown tights.  This dress was so comfortable and the perfect length for me to wear to work and out for fun, and I can't wait to wear it so many more times!

Thursday Night

The past couple of weeks have been both busy and stressful, and because of this you can probably imagine my delight when I saw three issues of my new magazine subscriptions.  So what you see folks, is my Thursday night, and what you don't see that will be part of my night is a glass of wine.

{Happy Thursday!}

Outfit Crush

It was about time that I put up an outfit crush showing an outfit from Kendi.  Although, I don't have a cream sweater vest, I do have a light blue button-up sweater vest that I would love to pair with my gingham shirt.  I love how simple this outfit seems, but also how put together she looks.

Seeing Spots

 {Cardigan: Gap, Button-Up: Can't Remember, Jeans: Gap, Heels: Target}

I was so happy to have something for Everybody Everywear in my closet.  Have you heard of EBEW? It's a pretty great idea from Linda and Liz where something is picked that most people already have in their closet.  This time around it was polka dots.  At first I wasn't sure if I had anything with polka dots, and then I dug in the back of my closet and found this button-up black and white shirt.  I can't wait to look at everyone's outfits with polka dots!

Remix Round-Up

Here is a complete recap of my 30 outfits.  Do you have any favorites?  My favorites are numbers 4, 11, 18, 24, and 28.  My MVP for this challenge, just like the last one, are definitely my cognac boots.  Once again those bad boys pulled me through the last 30 days and kept my feet both warm and stylish.

I really like these challenges, and I hope that Kendi has a spring or summer edition.  They challenge me to wear different outfits that I wouldn't otherwise think about if I had full access to my closet, not to mention how much time they save me every morning.  I do have to say that I am happy to go shopping again for some lovely spring clothes that I've been seeing!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Playing along with Lauren today, and tonight I'm going out of town for one of my best friend's birthdays.  I am so excited to spend the weekend with some really close friends and of course my boyfriend.

1.   The phrase or punctuation I overuse most is: exclamation marks.  I want to put them at the end of most sentences, I guess they just describe my feeling for something the best!

2.  Today I am thankful for: coffee.  I am already on my second cup and it is helping me get through a big project!

3.  My best friend is: my boyfriend and friend Justine.  They both know me the best, probably better than I know me and I think would do most anything for me.

4.  A quirky thing about me is: that I'm very neurotic about certain things.  For instance touching other people's silverware in the kitchen sink grosses me out!

5.  This weekend I: am going to Black Butte Ranch to celebrate my friend's 25th birthday! I haven't seen her or the other people going in a few months so I'm excited to relax and catch up!

6.  Something that worries me is: driving in the snow, but luckily my boyfriend is driving this weekend and he is much better at driving in the snow than me.

7.  On my night stand you would find: three dishes from Anthropologie with jewelry in them, a lamp, my cell phone and one or two cups for water.

Happy weekend!

Alle fertigen [All Finished]

 {Blazer: H&M, Shirt: Old Navy, Jeans: Forever 21, Boots: Steve Madden}

Another 30 for 30 challenge under my belt. Stay tuned for a wrap-up of my 30 different outfits.

I'm super excited because I just got home from volunteering at my very first fashion show.  Nordstrom had a designer preview runway fashion show, and all of the proceeds benefit the OHSU Center for Women's Health.  It was so much fun to see what is going to be in fashion for spring, and I felt very official since I was able to sit in the front row! Because I was volunteering though, I didn't have my camera with me, but hopefully I will be able to find some photos to share with you.

Happy Day 29!

 {Cardigan: H&M, Button-Up: The Limited, Jeans: Gap, Oxfords: Nine West}

I don't have much to say today, probably because all I can think about is my plans for this weekend.  After a stressful couple of weeks I am so excited to celebrate one of my best friend's birthdays!

Happy hump day and happy day 29!

Outfit Crush

This outfit has me craving spring.  Even though I have yet to find a "body conscious" skirt that I like on me, I have to say that I love the striped pattern on this skirt.  What I especially like about this outfit is the olive green button-up shirt which would work with so many different outfits.  She's rockin' it!

Two More to Go

 {Cardigan: Old Navy, Button-Up: Old Navy, Jeans: Gap, Boots: Steve Madden}

Can you believe that today is March 1st?  It's definitely still Winter in Oregon, and my apartment is far too drafty to wear a short sleeve shirt, let alone a skirt without tights, but I am very excited that spring is just around the corner!  I am starting to worry about what to wear when the challenge is over since I'll have full access to my closet again.  Have you started thinking about what you'll wear first after the challenge? For me it'll probably be my sweaters and different pairs of boots.  I want to wear my cozy sweaters one last time before spring and summer.
