Fill in the Blank Friday

Happy Friday everyone! I hope that you all have been having a great week.  Any fun plans for the weekend? Tonight I'm getting happy hour at Nostrana, they have the best Margherita pizza.  Tomorrow I'm going to the Pumpkin Patch Maze and I'll also pick out a couple pumpkins too! Have a great weekend!

1.  My current obsession is these no bake energy balls. Yum!

2.  Sunshine make me happy.

3.  My greatest strength is my ability to write long to-do lists and get them done!

4.  My OCD  is my greatest weakness.

5.  My life is great, a little up in the air right now but I'm learning to embrace the spontaneity of it all!

6.  In high school I was     a middle-of-the-road kind of kid. I wasn't popular or a total outcast. Just right in the middle ... same with me!

7.  When I'm super tired I become really giggly, and think that the silliest things are hilarious.

Outfit Crush

I don't just like this outfit, I love it.  What's better than a simple shift dress and some gold and neutral accessories to make an early fall outfit seem just right? Caitlin from Style Within Reach is also the editor of The Glitter Guide, so you should probably go check out her blog and The Glitter Guide awesomeness.

My Pinterest "wishlist" board is growing by the day.  Perhaps that's because starting around this time of the year, I start thinking about what I want for Christmas and my birthday in a few months.  These are some things that I"m not necessarily expecting, but I am currently wanting.

Faux Fur Vests

I never really thought I would say the following words, "I want a faux fur vest."  This year it seems that they are everywhere, in all the stores and magazines and I can't help but want to add one to my closet.  I went more with the budget friendly take on faux fur, because hey, who wants to drop a couple hundred on a potential trend?  My prediction is that the faux fur vest will be for fall/winter, what the cargo vest was for spring/summer.  Think of them more as a neutral, but a fun neutral!

No Bake Energy Balls

I don't have my own picture of these, because I ate them all so fast, but they are by far my new favorite snack.  I came across the recipe a couple months ago on Pinterest, and they are so easy to make and super delicious.  You probably already have all of the ingredients in your pantry, so go make some, you won't regret it.

Outfit Crush

I've never been one to follow the "no white after Labor Day" rule.  In fact, wearing white in the dead of winter is one of my favorite things to wear.  Sydney pulls off this look well, pairing a simple white dress with a pink blazer.  One of the best parts about this outfit is that it can be worn now, or pulled out of the closet again for spring.

When I lived with my parents, my dad would always call me the "Imelda Marcos of Jackets," and it's safe to say that some things never change no matter how old you get.  I still love buying jackets (but getting a good deal on them) every Fall/Winter.  Jackets to me are such a great investment, and I still have some jackets from about six years ago that look good as new, and I think are still in style.  What's better than that? Although, this Emerson Made jacket doesn't fit in the "great deal" category, it is a beauty that I would love to get my hands on.

Black, White, and Coral

{Tank & Skirt: Forever 21, Wedges: Kenneth Cole Reaction}

After about a week of colder temperatures and gray skies, sunshine has returned to Portland.  I am so happy that the weather has been nice today, because having to bust out my umbrella over the weekend was making me sad to say goodbye to the sun for nine months.  I took the opportunity to wear one of my favorite old skirts from Forever 21, it's my favorite because of the pockets (who doesn't love pockets?).  P.S. Oreo loves appearing in my outfit pictures.

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   You should always take time to  laugh and enjoy the little things in life.

2.  Sunshine  make(s) the world a happier place to be.

3.  I can hardly wait for next summer ( I can't help that I'm craving sunshine already).

4.    Saturday   is my favorite day of the week.

5.  Something totally dumb and ridiculous that I love is  hmmm having a difficult time thinking of something.

6.  If I could, I would become the next Stacy London, love her!

7.  I rather like baking for fun events and parties!

Happy Weekend!

Outfit Crush

This outfit is brought to you courtesy of A Lovely Escape, and it couldn't be more perfect for the transition to fall.  Portland took a drastic drop in temperatures this week, and I've found myself gravitating toward more layers.  Today I wore a variation of this outfit, with a sweater vest rather than a cargo one.  It's a great look that can be pulled off with many variations.

Missoni for Target

Out of curiosity, I stopped by my local Target to (hopefully) see what the Missoni line was all about.  Not only was there only two headbands and rain boots left, but when I woke up this morning, Target.com had already crashed from the surge of traffic.  Hopefully you were able to find something that made your closet happy, I'd love to hear about it!

Portland Fashion Night Out

 {Love the faux fur vest}

 {Kate Spade can do no wrong}

{All of the looks}

My friend Aloysia and I went to Director Park on Thursday to see Portland's Fashion Night Out.  Since it was my first time attending a FNO event, I wasn't sure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised.  There were quite a few cute looks for both girls and guys, and there was no shortage of people watching either.

Fill in the Blank Friday

1.   Somewhere someone is helping someone less fortunate than themselves (wishful thinking at least).

2.    Bloggers is/are my muse.

3.  It would suck if  my sunless tanner  was no more because,  I would look as white as a ghost.

4.  Baking sugar cookies for my best pal's baby shower  is/are my favorite thing about today.

5.  Life is kind of like an interesting journey with highs and lows.

6.  If I could have anything I wanted I would want to travel all around the world and eat all of the delicious food, I would also settle and be an Amazing Race contestant. ;)

7.  A funny thing happened the other day...  completely drawing a blank on funny things!

Happy Friday!!

Portland Fashion Night Out

Tonight I'm attending my first Portland Fashion Night Out event! Fashion Night Out events are happening all over the country (world too?) and they're the kick off for New York Fashion Week.  I couldn't be more excited to go, but the only thing is I have no idea what to wear.  Any ideas or suggestions that you might have in the next couple of hours would be greatly appreciated! P.S. it's supposed to be in the 90s.

Outfit Crush

It's HOT here in Portland, finally! Whenever it's warm, I find myself drawn to looser fitting dresses that look effortless, but don't add any extra bulk.  Taylor from Sterling Style is pulling off this look so easily! I think I'll also put my white dress and yellow sandals to good use this weekend for my friend's baby shower!

Skydiving 2011

I did it, I went skydiving last weekend! It was more fun than I could have imagined, and not quite as scary as I had anticipated.  The whole fall lasted about five to six minutes, and the best part was once we pulled the parachute and I could just relax and look at all of the scenery of Eugene.  From the plane I was able to see Autzen Stadium, the University of Oregon, and several peaks and mountains. It was absolutely amazing!  P.S. I also got to wear an "awesome" 90s jumpsuit.

Free Fallin'

Guess what I'm doing tomorrow?  I'm going skydiving! Tomorrow is my brother's 21st birthday, and we have talked about going skydiving for several years now, and now's the time.  It'll be me, my brother, and his girlfriend hopping out of plane.  Wish us all luck, and hope that my tandem partner pushes me out of the plane since I'll most likely be a scared little girl.  Hopefully I'll have some pictures to share on Monday of the experience!

Poppy King

I'm back! Sorry I took a little blogging break at the beginning of the week, but sometimes that's what you need to do.  Recently I came across this Poppy King lipstick by J.Crew and I am in love with the color.  Lipstick is still fairly new to me, but it is something that is so much fun to wear and embrace.  I think that it just adds a punch of personality to any outfit.  This lipstick is at the top of my "beauty to-buy" list.
