Wishlist: Summer Purse

While not wanting to spend a lot of money, I would love to have a new purse for the summer.  Keeping price range in mind, I found a few purses that I would love to have one in my closet.  I especially love the cognac colored purse and the one with colorblocked purse.  I think it's such a fun way to integrate this trend in your wardrobe.  Do you have a favorite summer purse to recommend?

Cat Love

Saw this video tweeted this evening and thought it was just too cute not to share.  Who wouldn't want to see a mama cat hug her kitten?  Hope that this brightens your Thursday evening!

Outfit Crush

It's safe to say that I love everything about Kate's outfit, and I mean, really what's not to love about it?  I'm obsessed with both the pink oversized clutch and wider stripe dress.  Now if only I could find both of those items, then I would love to recreate her outfit!

Inspiration Board

{Start with desired frame}

{Trace and cut foam core board to just larger than the opening of the frame}

{Lay out cork to cover the entire piece of foam core and start gluing the cork.  I outlined it with glue and then put some in the middle too.}

{Once all the cork is glued to the board, insert it into frame.  From the back of the frame, hammer nails in at an angle and bend in towards the foam.  Repeat this for all four sides (Thank you to my BF for helping)}

{Completed cork in frame}

{Pin any photos you like, and then let the inspiration flow!}

I finally found some time this weekend to create my inspiration board.  I had so much fun making this board, and it only took a few items: a frame, three sheets of cork, tacky glue, four nails, and foam core board.

{Button-Up: Old Navy, Jeans: Banana Republic, Heels: Target}

I seem to have inadvertently taken a break from blogging, but I'm back with an outfit post for the day.  This was the gem of a shirt that I found at Old Navy the other week.  Although it wrinkled easily, it was super comfy all day at work.  Also, now that I look at this outfit, I'm realizing that the entire outfit cost less than $50.  I got a great deal on these jeans at the Banana Republic outlet this weekend, and my only complaint about them is two of the button loops are rather large and seem to stick out from my hips like ears.  Any ideas on how to remedy this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Outfit Crush

Although I'm not necessarily a fan of the outfit itself, I am inspired by the color combination in it. I have a shirt with the colors in her skirt and like the idea of pairing it with gray or brown.  Also seeing the skirt next to the yellow NYC Taxi makes me want to pair my shirt with my yellow skirt.

Happy Wednesday!

Olive Straw Sunglasses

I wanted to share with you all some of my recent purchases.  I have a nice pair of sunglasses (aviators too), but sometimes I worry about carrying them with me for fear of breaking them! The sunglasses were purchased at Ross, and they're Jessica Simpson brand.  Before unveiling the straw hat in a couple weekends, I'm planning on adding ribbon around the top.  It was such a great deal at Target, only $2.50! Finally, this light weight button up shirt is perfect for spring and early summer, and it was such a great deal at Old Navy that I couldn't pass it up!

After seeing a similar nail trend in (I think) InStyle magazine, I thought I would give it a try.  This is my second attempt at it, the last one was mainly light pink with the splash of bright pink on my ring fingers.  I think it's a fun alternative to having all ten nails painted one color, and I can't help but be reminded of how I use to paint each nail a different color or each hand a different color when I was younger.

Outfit Crush

The simplicity of this outfit is so refreshing to me.  She looks so effortless, and the top knot adds to the relaxed feel but also helps keep her polished.  I especially love her oversized glasses and orange lipstick, and of course can't wait to recreate this look!

Everybody Everywear - Floral

This month I'm participating in EBEW again, and the theme is floral.  As soon as I heard it was floral I was excited to participate, that was until I looked in my closet and realized I don't own many floral pieces of clothing.   Most of my floral pieces are flouncy skirts or spaghetti strap dresses, so it was somewhat difficult to find something appropriate for work.  I'm so excited to look at everyone else's versions of floral and see how they've styled them.  Go check them out too at the EBEW site!

Bathing Beauties

With a trip to Las Vegas on the horizon, I can't help but get into bathing suit mode.  Most of my bathing suits are several years old, so I've recently started browsing for a new suit.  If I were to choose any favorites from the suits above, I would choose either of the suits from Anthropologie.  Although, I have a tough time justifying that much for a swimsuit, it's fun to browse the website.

polka stripes

{Cardigan: Old Navy,  Shirt: Forever 21, Jeans: Bitten by SJP, Heels: Urban Outfitters}

I'm super excited to share two outfit posts with you all this week.  This was my first "real" attempt at mixing patterns.  As you can see from this, I was somewhat apprehensive to mix patterns, and decided to stay somewhat simple with my first attempt of polka dots and stripes.  This has definitely inspired me to attempt pattern mixing more often, and now that the forecast has more than one day of nice weather in it, I think it'll be possible to wear some of my ideas.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Outfit Crush

It's probably no surprise to anyone who reads blogs often, but you can gain a ton of inspiration from fellow bloggers.  This isn't the first time that I've had an outfit crush on another blogger's outfit, and today's outfit from Krystle is no exception.  Krystle has a great black, mid-length skirt, and super great color blocked heels.  Every time I go into a thrift store I search for a mid-length skirt, and have yet to find one.  Are there any places you'd recommend looking for one?

Tulip Love

{Jacket: Forever 21, Shirt: Old Navy, Belt: H&M, Skirt: Forever 21, Heels: Nine West}

I'm excited to share another "Portland Inspiration Post."  This outfit was actually worn on Sunday, but it was inspired by some tulips that I saw outside of a downtown Starbucks.  Originally I was going to pair a yellow shirt with a red skirt, but then decided that may look too much like McDonald's, and I have to say I like this outfit even more.  I also have to admit that I changed into flat sandals in order to walk around Ikea.
