Sharp Dressed Man

This past weekend I had the opportunity to do some new things. The first was that I went to the ZZ Top concert at the Oregon State Fair. It was really fun because it was my boyfriend and my first concert together! We also watched the Stihl Timbersports college championship competition.

The second new experience was the Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival. We enjoyed some delicious wine and I met Seth Aaron who was the winner from the latest season of Project Runway. It was a fantastic weekend!

Home-Made Greeting Cards

I've been feeling creative lately, so when Justine mentioned that we make some greeting cards I was excited. Luckily, she had all of the necessary supplies, and it was much easier than I imagined. (Sorry for the iPhone photos)

Blackberry Cobbler

My best pal and I went to the Portland Farmer's market the other day, and bought many delicious fresh fruits and vegetables. I bought some blackberries to make a blackberry cobbler. It was my first time making a cobbler, but I think that it turned out well. Here is the recipe and a picture.

- Mix one cup self-rising flour with 1 cup sugar
- Whisk in 1 cup milk
- Rub some butter in the baking dish so it doesn't stick, then melt the stick of butter and whisk into batter
- Pour the batter into the buttered baking dish
- Rinse and pat dry 2 cups of blackberries (fresh or frozen)
- Drop the berries on top of the batter evenly
- Sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar over the berries and batter
- Bake at 350 for 1 hour until it is bubbly and golden

Welcome to my blog. I will be sharing my thoughts on restaurants around Portland, recipes I've tried, as well as comments on fashion. I hope that you enjoy!
